AP wants $2.50 a word to excerpt its stories.

There's a feud going between AP and bloggers.  I need to read up on it, and will get back to you.  Sorry for my ignorance regarding this.  However, please see Hot Air and Ace of Spades.  At this time, I see AP's stance as a pretext. 

In my opinion, it’s the public’s right as readers to critique the quality of news received from sources who hold themselves out as trustworthy. AP cannot claim we have the “right to know” without acknowledging we also have the “right to know if it’s true.” Welcome to the new media, AP.  It’s called “the public.”
